Nintendo Switch Is The Future
The Nintendo Switch Is A Mashup Of Everything That Makes Nintendo Awesome.
If you’ve never heard of the Nintendo Switch, get ready to have your mind blown.
We all know that Nintendo has made some seriously great consoles in the past. Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, the original Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, the SD with the clutch backlit screen; all of these gaming devices/consoles were incredible and brought something new and innovative to the gaming community. (To be 100% honest, I have owned almost every Nintendo console, even handheld, released since the early/mid 90’s.)
The Nintendo Switch game console is set to change the face of gaming forever. This innovative system is a mash-up of all of Nintendo’s best past consoles, plus a little bit extra. We break down all the components of the Switch, and what you can do with it on March 3rd, 2017, the official launch date.

How does the Nintendo Switch work?
Nintendo released a really great commercial for the Super Bowl that sums up a lot of what the switch can do in about 25-30 seconds. The Commercial is awesome, but it only really scratches the surface of what the Switch can do. This console is loaded with awesome features that we cover in the review below.
The Nintendo Switch features the Nintendo Switch Dock, the Nintendo Switch Console, and Newly Designed JOY-CON Controllers.
Nintendo Switch Console- The Screen
The Console itself is actually the portable screen, and The Nintendo Switch is a touch screen as well. The Switch uses game card cartridges loaded from the top, allowing you to switch games on the go. Shown here is a screenshot from Nintendo.com giving an overview of everything that is on the Switch console.
There are “rails” on either side of the console/screen that allow the JOY-CON controllers to connect to the Switch, making this the ultimate portable gaming system.
Nintendo claims that on a single charge you can get anywhere from 2.5-6 hours worth of gameplay, depending on the game. They have also included a USB charging port, so (thankfully) It can be charged and played at the same time.
Nintendo Switch JOY-CON Controllers- The Future Of Controllers
The Nintendo Switch now features the brand new JOY-CON controller. There is a left half (minus sign) and right half (plus sign). Each half can be attached to the JOY-CON grip, which forms a controller to play on your television. You also use the JOY-CONs mounted on the Switch console itself to make a portable game pad, or held separately when playing certain portable 2 player games. The JOY-CONs also have motion sensors in them, and can be used individually as “Wii-motes” were used on the Nintendo Wii.
Nintendo Switch Multiplayer- Show Your Skills Off
Online play looks to be amazing. There are already several titles that will be super awesome to play other players in the world.(I will fight any takers on A.R.M.S. when I get it.)

It looks like online multiplayer is going to cost a few bucks. ($20-$30 a year is the rumor, but they haven’t released official pricing yet) I suppose we can’t complain- PS4 and Xbox One almost cost that much per month.
One cool thing though about online play, they promise 1 free Nintendo or Super Nintendo game download each month to your Nintendo switch. These classic games are supposed to have additional multiplayer content, with extra challenges and online achievements to compete with all of your friends.
The JOY-CON controller can be removed from the Nintendo Switch for some games and played with two people. The Console has a kickstand on the back allowing you to prop your screen up on any level surface. This means that randomly on the go, you can play Mario kart 2 player with your friend that you run into.
Nintendo Switch Dock- The HUB
The Nintendo Switch Dock is what attaches to your television, allowing you to play your Nintendo Switch Games on the big screen.
All you need to do is drop the Switch Console into the Switch Dock to start playing on your TV. Plugging the Console into the Dock also charges the Nintendo Switch for portable use again.
